Welcome to

SPLATTER CONCERTS

Splatter Concerts is the new name for the series of shows that began back in 2002 at Holy Wisdom Church in Flanders, NJ. Our current home is located in Whippany, NJ, where we rent the facilities at the Ukrainian American Cultural Center, a new venue with beautiful concert space and ample parking. We continue to bring you the best in blues and American roots music, with occasional forays into rock, folk, and country. Our spokescat, Splatter, a Philadelphia native, adopted our founder several years ago and remains pretty much the brains behind this operation. Ms. Splatter will be happy to answer your questions and requests for information. See the "Contact Us" e-mail below.

Our Philosophy
It's about the music! We're not in it for the money. When we can, we regularly donate to local worthy causes, and we couldn't do what we do without the gracious assistance of volunteers, including several gentlemen from the Knights of Columbus, a very worthy charitable organization.  Let's face it - it's not so easy to enjoy good live music these days. Most of us have job and family responsibilities, ticket prices have skyrocketed, and the venues in NY or Philly aren't that close. By having concerts locally at an earlier hour, you can skip the traffic, time spent on the road, bridge or tunnel tolls, parking fees, late nights with insufficient sleep, and outrageous ticket prices. We offer tasty, affordable food, and depending on their age, children under 18 are either free or pay no more than $5.00 - so you don't need a babysitter if you can't find or can't afford one. Every effort is made to make it easy for you to come and enjoy the music!

The following is a list of some of the many artists who have appeared here in the past, Chris Hillman & Herb Pedersen, Chad & Jeremy, Carlene Carter, Tish Hinojosa, Pinetop Perkins, Magic Slim & The Teardrops, James Armstrong, Lil' Ed & The Blues Imperials, Big Bill Morganfield, Sam Taylor, Smokin' Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers, Tinsley Ellis, Deborah Coleman, Ana Popovic, Michael Burks, Anson Funderburgh & The Rockets with Sam Myers, Renee Austin, Sue Foley, Studebaker John & The Hawks, Eddie Shaw & The Wolfgang, Dwayne Burnside & The Mississippi Mafia, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Debbie Davies, Eddy Clearwater, Guitar Shorty, Bob Margolin, Nikki Armstrong, Ian McLagan, Richie Furay, Gina Sicilia, Robin Rogers, Donna Jean Godchaux Band, Skyla Burrell, Deb Callahan, New Riders of The Purple Sage, Bill Kirchen, Carl Weathersby, Big Brother & The Holding Company, Hubert Sumlin, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Eric Sardinas, John Nemeth, Laurie Morvan, Melanie, John Mayall, Peter Tork & Shoe Suede Blues, Maria Muldaur, Devon Allman's Honeytribe, Savoy Brown and Buffy Sainte-Marie.

SAMANTHA FISH

Leaving a trail of sparks behind her, up and coming guitarist, singer and songwriter SAMANTHA FISH has been touring all over. Have guitar, will travel! By now we surely know - thanks to artists like Sue Foley and Joanne Shaw Taylor - that fiery bluesy guitar isn't just a corner of the playground reserved for the boys any more. An artist like Samantha would have been unthinkable 50 years ago, and still darn scarce 20 years ago, but she is here now to wow us with her amazing talent. Check her out on You Tube, and join us for a night of rocking, smoking blues.

WISHBONE ASH

Splatter Concerts is proud to welcome this dynamic English band to our concert series for the very first time! Back in the 70s, you could hear beautifully entwined lead guitars on Allman Brothers recordings, Spirit recordings (where Randy California overdubbed himself) and .....on WISHBONE ASH records! Some bands have featured great harmony vocals - far fewer have pulled off great harmony guitars. The band brings an impressive discography and decades of touring to the table, so all you guitar heads - come on out! As always, we invite you to check the band out on You Tube if you are not familiar with their work. You will become a believer!
